304 and 316L stainless steel, PVD finish, and what these specifications mean for everyday wear.
316L is a stainless steel alloy with a molybdenum content that makes it particularly resistant to corrosion. It is often referred to as "surgical steel". The "L" denotes a low carbon content.

304 is the most widely used stainless steel grade — robust, resistant to rust and proven in daily use. It is also used for jewellery where no special corrosion requirements apply.

PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) is a physical coating process. A thin, hard layer is applied to the metal in a vacuum — giving the jewellery its colour (e.g. gold, black) and an even surface.
PVD layers are more resistant to abrasion than conventional plating.
